Leichhardt Women's Community Health Centre

Preventative health, health treatment clinics, counselling and health education. Run by women for women since 1974.

Leichhardt Women’s Community Health Centre is a non-government, not for profit multidisciplinary women's health organisation accessed by around 10,000 women a year.

Our Services include:
•General practitioner & women’s health nurse clinics
•Acupuncture
•Physiotherapy
•Naturopathy
•Drug & Alcohol counselling
•Counselling on various issues including assessment & referral, relationships, domestic violence, grief, sexuality, life events and decisions, and childhood sexual assault - in English and Vietnamese
•Health education groups and courses to improve wellbeing and develop personal skills
•Talks to community groups & health professionals
•the state-wide Women Partners of Bisexual Men Service (information, counselling and groups for women partners of gay/bisexual men in NSW)
•Medicare-registered psychology
•Lymphatic drainage massage therapy
•Counselling for women who are survivors of childhood sexual assault (in partnership with the NSW Rape Crisis Centre)


Employing 20 staff, the Centre prioritises services to women experiencing financial disadvantage.

The Centre also operates the only service in Australia specifically for women partners of gay and bisexual men.

The Centre is open every week day. Opening hours are:
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 930am-1pm, 2pm-530pm
Wednesdays 2pm-530pm.

The centre is funded by NSW Health and is within the Sydney Local Health District. The Centre has Public Benevolent Status with the Australian Taxation Office (providing tax deductibility for donations of $2 and above).
